Circuit Testing – Following the Wiring Trail (and Water Damage)
I started with the LIN Bus circuit tests per the Buick service manual, steps that apply to any electrical issue, from p0496 to window failures:
1. Turned off the ignition and disconnected the non-communicating devices (window switches, mirror, sunroof module)
2. Tested ground circuits: All showed resistance under 10 ohms (normal)

The smoking gun? J332 wiring node under the carpet, soaked with water from the sunroof leak, corroded until the circuit broke.
